Spring Hawley Retainer Upper – Lower

The standard Spring retainers also called spring aligners are a wonderful option to straighten crowded or crooked front teeth, especially for adults whose teeth tend to move and for children who did not wear their retainers after braces. The Spring Hawley combines the Spring Retainer’s anterior with the Hawley’s posterior. This design provides maximum anchorage for the alignment of the anterior teeth. alignment are reset into an ideal or slightly over-corrected position. The appliance has acrylic on the labial bow and a mushroom-shaped lingual spring.Upper arch clasp may vary.

Treatment & Care

The standard Upper Hawley design is constructed with .030 canine to canine “Hawley” labial bow with. 028 ball clasp on the first molars. Four-week appointment intervals are recommended. At each appointment, appliance fit should be evaluated, and orthodontic correction monitored. Interproximal reduction, as well as appliance adjustment,may be necessary.

Patients should wear 22 hours a day and clean daily with toothpaste to prevent the buildup of plaque and odor. Avoid Efferdent and other effervescent solutions, as it may erode components on the appliance.
